Summary
The Indiana Health Coverage Programs (IHCP) is reminding providers that the current Emergency Detention Order (EDO) process for both fee-for-service and managed care Medicaid members will expire on June 30, 2025. Providers should continue notifying the member's managed care entity or Acentra Health when members are under an EDO as part of standard utilization review.

Before June 30, 2025: Billing team and providers must prepare for the expiration of the current Emergency Detention Order process for Indiana Medicaid members. Continue current practice of notifying the member's MCE or Acentra Health (866-725-9991 for FFS members) when patients are under an EDO. Monitor for updated guidance on the new process that will take effect after June 30, 2025.
