Summary
Oregon Health Authority is proposing a State Plan Amendment to permanently add Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics (CCBHCs) as recognized Medicaid providers after the current demonstration program ends June 30, 2019. CCBHCs will continue receiving enhanced Medicaid reimbursement rates for providing comprehensive mental health and substance use disorder services. This is a public comment period; no billing workflow changes are required until the amendment is approved by CMS.
Action Required
By May 17, 2019: Medical billing team should review this proposed policy change and monitor for CMS approval. After CMS approval (expected late 2019): Billing team must verify that any CCBHC providers in your network are properly credentialed as Medicaid providers in billing systems and that enhanced reimbursement rates are accurately reflected in fee schedules. No immediate action required before approval. Contact Jesse Anderson (jesse.anderson@dhsoha.state.or.us) if your practice has questions about CCBHC billing impacts.
