Summary
IHCP is advising providers about a field correction for Dexcom G6 and G7 touchscreen receivers where audio alarms/alerts may not function due to speaker malfunction. Members using affected devices should test speaker function and contact Dexcom technical support if issues are found.
Action Required
Immediately: Patient care teams should identify members using Dexcom G6 (part MT27408-1) or G7 (part MT26403-0) receivers and instruct them to test speaker function during charging or through Menu>Information>Receiver>Speaker>Test. If speaker test fails, direct patients to contact Dexcom technical support at 844-478-1600 and use phone/watch apps or blood glucose meter until receiver is replaced.
