Summary
Oregon Health Authority is implementing two new Health-Related Social Needs (HRSN) Nutrition-Related Supports benefits: Pantry Stocking and Fruit and Vegetable benefits, effective July 1, 2026. CCOs must submit a Readiness Plan by May 1, 2026, detailing their implementation approach for these new Medicaid and Non-Medicaid covered benefits.
Action Required
By May 1, 2026: Billing and compliance teams must work with their CCO partners to submit the HRSN Nutrition Readiness Plan to Oregon Health Authority (contact: Jessica.L.Wilson@oha.oregon.gov). The plan must detail how the practice will implement and bill for the new Pantry Stocking and Fruit and Vegetable nutrition benefits. By July 1, 2026: Update billing system configuration, claim submission workflows, and provider documentation requirements to support the new HRSN Nutrition-Related Supports benefits. Ensure billing staff can identify and properly code these new benefit categories when processing Oregon Health Plan claims. Failure to implement by the effective date may result in claim processing delays or denials for members eligible for these services.
