Summary
Maryland Medicaid is changing its Return to Provider (RTP) application process effective September 1, 2026. Starting that date, deficient provider enrollment applications will be denied instead of returned for correction. Any applications currently in RTP status must be corrected by 5:00 PM on August 31, 2026, or they will be denied and providers must reapply through the new MPRIME system launching in October 2026.
Action Required
CRITICAL DEADLINE - By 5:00 PM Monday, August 31, 2026: Provider enrollment/credentialing staff must review all active Return to Provider (RTP) applications in the Maryland Medicaid ePREP portal. Obtain the deficiency letter from the ePREP Messages Center for each RTP application. Submit all required corrections and updates to address identified deficiencies before the 5:00 PM deadline. Any application not corrected by this deadline will be denied after August 31st. Denied applications cannot be updated—providers must submit entirely new applications in MPRIME after October 2026 go-live. For newly enrolling providers, suspended providers seeking to lift suspension, or providers with denied revalidation applications, prepare to submit new applications through MPRIME once it launches in October 2026.
