Immediately effective 10/14/2025: Billing team must update claim denial rules in billing software to reject all dry hydrotherapy claims (hydromassage, aquamassage, water massage) submitted under related CPT codes 97010, 97022, 97124, G0151, and S9131 when documentation indicates the service provided is dry hydrotherapy. Add denial reason: 'Service classified as experimental, investigational, or unproven per CPB 0699.' Configure system to block claims with ICD-10 codes H35.341-H35.349 (macular cyst, hole, pseudohole) when paired with these CPT codes, as macular hole treatment via hydromassage is explicitly non-covered. Train billing staff to identify dry hydrotherapy services on encounter forms and EOBs. Communicate non-coverage to providers and front-desk staff. Claims submitted after 10/14/2025 without prior knowledge of this policy change should reference CPB 0699 in appeal denials.
