Update provider encounter forms and EMR templates to include hematologist specialty requirement and Aetna Institutes GCIT Network facility validation checkpoints. Verify patient meets ALL clinical criteria (age 4+, weight ≥6kg, transfusion history within 2 years meeting 100 mL/kg/year OR ≥8 events/year, genetic testing confirmation of non-β0/β0 or β0/β0 genotype, HLA-matched donor ineligibility, no prior HSCT or prior gene therapy, and absence of exclusionary conditions including iron overload, HIV/HBV/HCV, malignancy, liver disease, bleeding disorder, immunodeficiency, seizure disorder, or renal impairment). Add validation rules to billing system to deny or hold claims that do not include precertification approval. Claims submitted to Aetna without prior NME authorization will be denied.
