Update billing software to flag claims for non-qualifying scenarios (e.g., PEP for non-aerosol exposure, vaccination solely for employment) as non-covered. Denial messaging must reference age restrictions (18-65 years standard; younger/older require IND/EUA documentation). Train billing staff that post-exposure anthrax vaccination claims require prior authorization exception—these are covered regardless of preventive benefits status, unlike PrEP claims. Communicate policy scope to providers: anthrax vaccine/antitoxin use outside these indications is classified experimental/investigational and will not be covered.
