Providers must register through the Medi-Cal Learning Portal (MLP) to access this training. This is an educational/operational requirement, not a billing code or coverage change.

By August 25, 2026: Providers who bill for Justice-Involved Reentry Initiative pre-release services must register for microlearning course J1309ML through the Medi-Cal Learning Portal (MLP) at https://mcweb.apps.prd.cammis.medi-cal.ca.gov and complete the training. Ensure your practice has internet access and user profiles established in MLP. Use Google Chrome browser for optimal access. Contact Medi-Cal Telephone Service Center at 1-800-541-5555 for registration assistance. This training is required for staff who verify member eligibility for these services to ensure compliance with the new JI Reentry Initiative guidelines.
