Days to comply

Summary

Blue Cross Blue Shield of South Carolina has updated the electronic signature (e-sign) process for provider enrollment applications effective June 9, 2025. Billing teams must ensure all required signer email addresses are accurately entered, monitor e-sign emails from specific BCBS addresses, and configure Adobe e-signatures to use 'Type' (not 'Image') to include required date/time stamps. Failure to comply will result in enrollment delays and returned applications for correction.

Action Required

Action needed
Before June 9, 2025 (or immediately if already past date): (1) Billing team and providers must ensure all required signer email addresses are entered correctly and completely in provider enrollment application fields—use only the specific email address type required for each application (e.g., practitioner's email for practitioner field only). (2) Ensure practice email systems accept and do not filter emails from @bcbssc.com domain and from echosign@echosign.com (JOSEPH PINEDA via Adobe Acrobat Sign) to receive e-signature requests and enrollment communications. (3) All providers signing documents via Adobe must confirm signature type is set to 'Type' (not 'Image') before submitting; switch to 'Type' if Image appears, as Image signatures lack required date/time stamps and will be returned for correction, delaying processing. (4) Do not delete or ignore e-sign emails from noreply@salesforce.com or noreply.mypep@bcbssc.com—these are not spam. Consequences of non-compliance: Missing/incorrect emails cause enrollment delays; Image signatures trigger rejection and resubmission requirements; filtering legitimate emails may result in missed signature requests and application processing failures.
