Summary
UPMC is now sharing biometric screening results (titers, cholesterol, triglycerides, glucose) from new employee preplacement exams with their primary care physicians, effective September 2023, with employee consent. PCPs will receive results via Quest Quanum through their preferred contact method or via fax if no method is on file.
Action Required
No billing action required. This is an informational policy affecting data sharing between UPMC Employee Health and participating PCPs. Billing teams should be aware that lab results (likely CPT 80053, 82465, 82947, 84443 or similar screening panels) may now be automatically transmitted to PCPs for UPMC new hires who consent. No workflow, coding, or billing system changes are needed at this time.
