Summary
Indiana Health Coverage Programs (IHCP) is increasing the Hospital Assessment Fee (HAF) adjustment factor for inpatient DRG reimbursement from 3.7 to 3.9, effective July 1, 2026. This applies to all IHCP managed care programs including Healthy Indiana Plan, Hoosier Care Connect, Hoosier Healthwise, and Indiana PathWays for Aging.

By July 1, 2026: Hospital billing teams in Indiana must update their billing systems to reflect the new HAF adjustment factor of 3.9 for inpatient DRG base rates (increased from 3.7). Verify that billing software automatically applies the correct adjustment factor based on discharge dates - claims with discharge dates on or after July 1, 2026 should use the new 3.9 factor.
