Summary
Highmark now provides narrow network claim remittance information visible to ALL participating providers in Availity Essentials, regardless of whether those providers participate in narrow networks. This enables providers to view claim processing details and expedite account receivable updates and patient billing without individual member lookups.
Action Required
By August 4, 2026: Billing team should train staff to access narrow network claim remittance information via Remittance Viewer in Availity Essentials. Providers who do not participate in Highmark narrow networks should update their account receivable workflows to utilize this new visibility feature for faster claim reconciliation and patient billing. Ensure staff are aware that remittance details are now available for narrow network members even if the provider is not contracted in those specific networks. No system configuration changes are required unless practice billing software integrates with Availity—verify Availity Essentials access credentials are current.
