By August 1, 2026: Billing team must immediately cease billing all cytological breast fluid examination services. Notify all oncology, ob-gyn, and general surgery providers of policy retirement in writing. Update billing system to flag and deny any claims submitted for retired breast cytology procedures. Review any pending or in-process claims and contact patients regarding coverage denial. Document all communications in compliance file. Failure to implement immediately will result in claim denials and potential compliance issues.
