Summary
BCBSRI is launching Grow Therapy, a new virtual behavioral health provider network offering telehealth therapy and medication management services to members nationally. Effective August 1, 2026, billing teams must recognize Grow Therapy as an in-network virtual provider option and ensure claims are routed correctly to avoid denials or out-of-network charges.
Action Required
By July 31, 2026: Billing team must update provider credentialing system and claim routing rules to recognize Grow Therapy clinicians as in-network providers under BCBSRI. Verify that telehealth behavioral health claims (CPT 99492, 99493, 99494, and standard psychiatry/therapy codes) are properly assigned in-network status when billed through Grow Therapy platform. Update front desk and authorization staff to direct members to Grow Therapy resource (growtherapy.com or 1-800-274-2958) when scheduling behavioral health services. Failure to update network status may result in inappropriate out-of-network billing or claim denials.
