Summary
Effective July 13, 2026, eviCore will no longer accept authorization submissions through their portal for fully funded BCBS Rhode Island Commercial members. This supersedes the previous policy (effective October 1, 2025) that removed authorization requirements for fully funded Commercial members ordered by PCPs. Providers must stop submitting authorizations to eviCore's portal for these members after this date.
Action Required
By July 13, 2026: Billing and authorization teams must update workflows to cease all authorization submissions to the eviCore portal for fully funded BCBS Rhode Island Commercial members. Update staff training materials and billing system rules to reflect that no authorizations are required or accepted for this member category when ordered by PCPs. Communicate this change to all providers and front-desk staff to prevent submission attempts that will be rejected. Failure to comply may result in system rejection errors and workflow delays.
