Action Required

Action needed
By June 15, 2026: Billing team must access CareSource.com > Providers > Tools & Resources > Provider Policies, select Georgia Medicaid, then Pharmacy section to download and review all five revised policies: (1) Medical Benefit Medications, (2) Medical Necessity – Off Label, (3) Medical Necessity for Multi-Source Brands, (4) Medical Necessity for Preferred and Non-Preferred Medications, and (5) Multi-Ingredient Compound Policy. Document any changes to prior authorization requirements, covered medication lists, documentation standards, or billing rules. Update billing system rules, prior authorization workflows, and provider encounter templates accordingly. Identify which policy changes affect your practice's most frequently billed medications and compounds. Train billing and clinical staff on new requirements before July 1, 2026. Failure to comply with revised policies may result in claim denials for non-compliant prescriptions.
