Action Required

Action needed
By June 30, 2026: Billing team must obtain and review the current physician office and outpatient fee schedule from interChange (DSS) to identify all skin substitute codes affected by this change. Update billing software to remove prior authorization requirements for the specified skin substitute codes. Notify all providers and clinical staff that prior authorization is no longer needed for select skin substitutes effective July 1, 2026. Train billing staff to process skin substitute claims without requesting prior authorization for affected codes. Failure to update workflows may result in unnecessary claim delays from submitting prior authorization requests for services no longer requiring them.
