Summary

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Mexico is conducting an annual provider directory audit from July 20 through August 28, 2026, via vendor Press Ganey. All contracted providers must verify their directory information (group/individual name, locations, phone numbers, hours, new patient status) when contacted. Additionally, providers are reminded that directory data must be verified every 90 days using the Demographic Change Form or Provider Data Management tools to ensure member access to accurate practice information.

Action Required

Before Jul 20, 2026
By August 28, 2026: Front desk and administrative staff must be prepared to respond to calls from Press Ganey vendor for directory verification. Ensure staff can confirm: practice name, all location addresses, scheduling phone number, hours of operation, and new patient acceptance status. Billing and administrative team must establish a 90-day directory verification schedule using either the Demographic Change Form or Availity Essentials Provider Data Management feature to keep all contracted provider information current. When making changes, providers must update information through: (1) directly with BCBSNM, (2) CAQH Provider Data Portal, or (3) National Provider Identifier Registry. To remove individual providers from a group, use the Demographic Change Form with 'Remove Provider from Group/Location' selection in Type of Change field—do not use Availity Essentials for terminations. Ensure all office staff, including centralized offices, have access to current directory information and can relay it accurately to members. Failure to maintain accurate directory information may result in members being unable to locate or access your services.
