Summary
Beginning July 18, 2026, BCBS Oklahoma providers can digitally access prior authorization and referral decision letters for commercial members through Availity Essentials portal. Starting September 8, 2026, approval letters will ONLY be available digitally (no more mail delivery), though denial letters will continue to be mailed.
Action Required
By July 18, 2026: Ensure billing team has access to Availity Essentials portal and trains staff to use the Provider Correspondence Viewer in the branded Payer Spaces section to retrieve prior authorization letters for BCBS Oklahoma commercial members. By September 8, 2026: Update workflow procedures as approval letters will no longer be mailed - staff must check the portal for all approval letters to avoid missing authorizations.
