Summary
Oregon Medicaid is removing Intermediate Care Facility (ICF/DD) services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities from the state plan. This is a technical/administrative cleanup since Oregon's last ICF/DD facility (Fairview Training Center) closed on March 1, 2000, and the state plan was never updated to reflect this. No billing impact is expected since no Oregon providers currently operate ICF/DD facilities.
Action Required
DEADLINE: By August 7, 2026 at 5 p.m., billing teams in Oregon Medicaid-participating practices should review this notice for informational purposes. However, NO IMMEDIATE ACTION IS REQUIRED for most practices. If your practice has any historical ICF/DD billing or encounters claims related to ICF/DD services for Oregon Medicaid patients, contact your billing software vendor and the Oregon Health Authority (jesse.anderson@oha.oregon.gov or 503-385-3215) to verify no legacy billing codes need updates. This change only affects practices that historically billed for ICF/DD services—since no such facilities exist in Oregon, this is primarily an administrative state plan cleanup with no practical billing workflow impact.
