Summary
Effective January 1, 2018, Security Health Plan requires all corrected claims to be clearly marked as corrected or they will be denied as duplicates. Additionally, the plan is launching a Dual-Eligible Special Needs Plan (D-SNP) coordinating Medicare Advantage and Wisconsin Medicaid for eligible members in specified counties, requiring providers to work closely with care coordination teams.
Action Required
By January 1, 2018: Billing team must ensure all corrected claims submitted to Security Health Plan are clearly marked as 'corrected' in the claim submission system to avoid duplicate denial. Review the corrected claims process at www.securityhealth.org/correctedclaims and update billing software submission protocols. For claims requiring charge deletions or duplicate payment refunds, use Adjustment Request Forms (searchable at www.securityhealth.org as 'corrected adjustment'). Include specific dates of service and a copy of the primary EOB when applicable. Failure to clearly mark corrected claims will result in claim denials. Additionally, for providers treating D-SNP members in Wood, Marathon, Portage, Lincoln, and Clark counties (expanding to Rusk, Chippewa, Price, Taylor, and Eau Claire in 2018): Establish direct communication protocols with Security Health Plan's care coordination team and ensure primary care providers are actively collaborating on individualized care plans for dual-eligible members.
