Cigna Healthcare has updated its Illinois provider directory requirements effective July 1, 2026. Providers must now submit all directory information changes electronically within 10 business days using the Uniform Electronic Provider Directory Information Form. Paper and fax submissions are no longer acceptable per Illinois Department of Insurance regulations.

By July 1, 2026: Providers must transition from paper/fax submissions to electronic directory updates. Establish process to submit practitioner and group updates to Intake_PDM@Evernorth.com and hospital/ancillary provider updates to CPOCIMs@Evernorth.com. Implement internal workflow to ensure all directory changes (address, phone, specialties, patient acceptance status) are submitted electronically within 10 business days of any change. For patient acceptance limitations expected to last 40+ business days, submit notification within 20 business days. Update front office staff on new submission requirements and eliminate paper/fax as submission methods. Failure to comply may result in outdated provider directory information, leading to patient access issues and potential claims processing delays.
