Summary
Connecticut Medical Assistance Program (CMAP) is mandating Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) enrollment for all providers, trading partners, and drug labelers accessing the secure web portal by August 1, 2026. Users must enroll using either an authenticator app or email verification. Additionally, security questions have been restructured to use a standardized dropdown menu format (effective May 13, 2026), and password reset notifications are now being sent to alert users of account changes.
Action Required
By August 1, 2026: All staff with portal access (Master Users and Clerks) must complete MFA enrollment. Billing team should: (1) Identify all personnel who access the CMAP secure web portal; (2) Instruct them to enroll in MFA using either an authenticator app (Microsoft Authenticator, Google Authenticator, or Authy) or email verification before the August 1 deadline; (3) Register for available office hours (July 1-31, 2026) if staff need technical assistance with setup; (4) Update security questions using the new structured dropdown format when prompted. After August 1, MFA will be mandatory for all portal logins, password changes, and EFT information updates—accounts without MFA enrollment will be unable to access the portal. Contact Provider Assistance Center at 1-800-842-8440 (Mon-Fri, 8am-5pm) if enrollment fails or requires reset.
