Summary
The Every Woman Counts (EWC) program administration transitioned from Regional Contractors to in-house DHCS operations effective July 1, 2026. This is an administrative restructuring only with no changes to EWC program coverage, eligibility, or benefits. All EWC program correspondence must now be directed to new DHCS email addresses and phone lines.
Action Required
By July 1, 2026: Billing team and front desk staff must update all EWC program contact information in billing systems, provider directories, and internal reference materials. Replace Regional Contractor contacts with: General questions → ewc@dhcs.ca.gov; Clinical/DETEC questions → ewcclinicalservices@dhcs.ca.gov; Member education → ewchealtheducation@dhcs.ca.gov or 1-800-511-2300; Claims/billing support → 1-800-541-5555 (TSC, M-F 8am-5pm). Update any automated routing or escalation procedures that reference old Regional Contractor contacts. No changes to billing codes, coverage, or claim submission processes are required. Ensure all staff who interact with EWC members or handle EWC-related inquiries have the new contact information.
