Summary
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois (BCBSIL) has been reselected as one of six Managed Care Organizations for Illinois' HealthChoice Medicaid program. New member enrollment begins later in 2026 with coverage starting January 1, 2027. BCBSIL will continue serving approximately 700,000 Medicaid members under the Blue Cross Community Health Plans.

Billing team should monitor News and Updates section and Medicaid portal for announcements regarding any changes to claims submission, prior authorization, fee schedules, or coverage policies when new members transition to coverage on January 1, 2027.
