BCBSRI has launched a new Behavioral Health Case Management program effective July 1, 2026, staffed by mental health and substance use professionals. Providers can refer patients via phone (1-800-274-2958), email (triage_group@bcbsri.org), or an automated online referral form through the BCBSRI provider portal. By July 1, 2026: Providers and front desk staff should become familiar with the BCBSRI Behavioral Health Case Management program referral process. No immediate billing system changes are required. Ensure clinical staff know the three referral methods: (1) call 1-800-274-2958, (2) email triage_group@bcbsri.org, or (3) use the automated form via BCBSRI.com provider portal (Tools > Resources > Forms > Case Management Request).
