Ensure no patient cost-sharing (copay/deductible) is applied to this service when billed as preventive care. Verify claim submission rules with affected Medicare Advantage plans to confirm proper coding methodology for this new service. Update provider education materials to inform clinical staff of the coverage expansion. Failure to properly bill this as preventive coverage may result in inappropriate patient charges and claim denials.
