Summary
California providers must immediately sign the Data Exchange Framework Data-Sharing Agreement (DxF DSA) to maintain compliance with state law. Failure to sign by the Phase I deadline (January 31, 2024) or Phase II deadline (January 31, 2026, depending on provider type) may result in corrective action. REQUIREMENTS:
- By January 31, 2024 (Phase I) or January 31, 2026 (Phase II): All applicable providers and practice leadership must sign the DxF DSA immediately through the DxF DSA Signing Portal (link: https://providerlibrary.healthnetcalifornia.com/news/26-799-action-required--sign-california-data-exchange-agreement-.html).
- Providers (physicians, practice administrators, hospital executives, clinic directors) must complete the signing requirement and maintain an executed copy of the agreement.
- Billing and compliance teams should verify execution status and track completion dates in compliance records.
- Internal systems and workflows must be aligned to support secure electronic sharing or access to clinical and social services data as required by the DxF.
