Summary

California providers must immediately sign the Data Exchange Framework Data-Sharing Agreement (DxF DSA) to maintain compliance with state law. Failure to sign by the Phase I deadline (January 31, 2024) or Phase II deadline (January 31, 2026, depending on provider type) may result in corrective action. This is a regulatory compliance requirement, not a billing code change, but affects provider participation and data-sharing obligations.

Action Required

Action needed
REQUIREMENTS: - By January 31, 2024 (Phase I) or January 31, 2026 (Phase II, depending on provider classification): All affected providers must sign the Data Exchange Framework Data-Sharing Agreement (DSA) via the DxF DSA Signing Portal and Participant Directory at https://providerlibrary.healthnetcalifornia.com/news/26-798-action-required--sign-california-data-exchange-agreement-.html or contact Provider Engagement network specialist. - Identify provider type to determine applicable deadline: * Phase I (Jan 31, 2024): Physicians, physician practices, physician organizations, medical groups, hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, and clinical laboratories * Phase II (Jan 31, 2026): Community-based providers, behavioral health providers, Enhanced Care Management (ECM), and Community Supports (CS) providers - Administrative/Compliance team must: Maintain an executed DSA copy in provider files; ensure internal systems and workflows align with DxF requirements; establish secure electronic data-sharing capabilities for clinical and social services data. - Billing team must: Verify provider compliance status before submitting claims; ensure no claims are processed for non-compliant providers, as this may trigger corrective action from payers. - For Medi-Cal: This applies only to providers in Amador, Calaveras, Inyo, Los Angeles, Mono, Sacramento, San Joaquin, Stanislaus, Tulare, and Tuolumne counties. - Contact provider services for your line of business if questions arise (see contact list in policy). CONSEQUENCES: Failure to sign by deadline may result in corrective action, potential claim denials, and loss of compliance status with California law.
