Summary

Billing teams must now direct providers to use the portal's Claim Status tool instead of resubmitting claims before checking status.

By June 1, 2026: Billing team must update claim submission workflows and provider communication templates to direct all providers to check claim status via the secure portal at providers.bcidaho.com before resubmitting claims. Specifically: (1) Train billing staff on the new portal navigation steps (log on, hover Eligibility & Claims tab, select Claim Status, enter date range, select rendering provider, search); (2) Update provider communication templates and rejection letters to include the portal access instructions; (3) Remove any references to organizational determinations from internal policies and claim correspondence; (4) Communicate to all providers that paper CMS 1500 claims are not accepted and claims must follow MAPAP214 electronic submission requirements. Failure to implement this guidance may result in unnecessary claim resubmissions and processing delays.
