Action Required
By July 1, 2026: Billing and clinical staff must review and implement the updated Texas Health Steps QRG and TMPPM sections 4.3.12.6.1 through 4.3.12.6.6. Update internal reference materials, provider workflows, and laboratory requisition processes to reflect revised contact information and procedures for DSHS Laboratory Account Setup, newborn screening resources, laboratory supplies ordering, specimen submission, and test reporting. Ensure all staff handling laboratory orders and newborn screening have access to updated educational resources and contact information. For MCO-enrolled Medicaid members, verify specific MCO requirements for prior authorization and claims filing, as administrative procedures vary by MCO.
