Summary

This policy provides Adult Foster Home (AFH) providers in Oregon with a one-time $1,000 hazard payment per resident served from March 1, 2020 through February 28, 2021, and implements retroactive Cost of Living Adjustments (COLA) of 5% effective July 1, 2021 and an additional 2.3% effective April 1, 2022. No action is required from AFH providers to receive these payments, as OHA will process them automatically.

Action Required

Action needed
No action required. This policy applies to Adult Foster Home (AFH) providers, not medical billing teams at healthcare practices. The hazard payments and COLA adjustments will be processed automatically by the Oregon Health Authority (OHA) through the Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS) by spring 2022. Billing teams should be aware that AFH provider reimbursement rates will increase but should not need to make any billing system changes. If questions arise regarding rate adjustments received from OHA, contact Mick Mitchell at mick.j.mitchell@dhsoha.state.or.us.
