Summary
Effective July 1, 2026, MO HealthNet is terminating reimbursement for acupuncture, chiropractic, and physical therapy services under the Complementary Health and Alternative to Chronic Pain Management program, plus all chiropractic services statewide. All claims for these services submitted after June 30, 2026, will be denied. Practices must immediately identify affected patients and stop billing these services to MO HealthNet.
Action Required
By June 30, 2026: Billing team must (1) update billing software to deny/block all acupuncture, chiropractic, and physical therapy claims submitted to MO HealthNet participants effective July 1, 2026; (2) identify all active MO HealthNet patients currently receiving these services and notify them of coverage termination; (3) update fee schedules and encounter templates to remove MO HealthNet reimbursement options for affected services; (4) train front desk and clinical staff to inform patients that services rendered after June 30, 2026, will not be covered. Immediately: Providers must cease billing MO HealthNet for chiropractic services (all types) and complementary/alternative pain management services.
