Summary
Minnesota Department of Human Services extended the deadline for Personal Care Assistance (PCA) and Consumer Support Grant (CSG) members to transition to Community First Services and Supports (CFSS) from the original deadline to September 30, 2027. Billing teams must verify member transition status and ensure proper service coding during the extended transition period. Extended PCA services will no longer be authorized after September 30, 2026.
Action Required
By September 30, 2027: Billing team must verify that all PCA and CSG members have transitioned to CFSS services. Before processing claims, confirm member transition status in the state system to ensure correct service authorization and coding. By September 30, 2026: Stop billing extended PCA services for all members; only standard assessed PCA services may continue until the Sept 30, 2027 deadline. Update billing system workflows to flag PCA/CSG members for transition verification. Note: Members on Alternative Care can no longer use PCA services and are not eligible for this extension. Failure to verify transition status may result in claim denials if services are billed under incorrect programs.
