Summary
Presbyterian is implementing a health equity initiative requiring providers to update demographic information (race, ethnicity, languages spoken, cultural training) in the online provider directory and PROVIDERConnect Portal. Providers must complete cultural competency training and ensure directory information is current to meet regulatory compliance under the Consolidated Appropriations Act. Multiple mandatory training events are scheduled throughout 2025.
Action Required
REQUIREMENTS:
- By March 31, 2025: Billing and front desk staff must ensure all provider demographic information is updated in the PROVIDERConnect Portal, including race, ethnicity, languages spoken, and any cultural competency training completed. Use the "Update Demographic Information" tool or complete the Presbyterian Practitioner & Provider Information Survey at https://phs.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_2i1N5vyo68SvIvY
- Immediate: Provider or designee must complete at least one cultural competency training course through Think Cultural Health (https://thinkculturalhealth.hhs.gov/) and submit the certificate of completion to providerdemo@phs.org to update provider profile.
- Before end of 2025: All contracted physical health, behavioral health, long-term care, and IHS/Tribal 638 providers and staff must attend at least one Provider Education Conference & Webinar Series training event. Register at phs.swoogo.com (events scheduled March 14, 21, 28 and April 4).
- Behavioral health providers only: Attend annual Critical Incident Reporting training by March 13, 2025 (1-2:30 p.m., register at phs.swoogo.com/bhcir25).
- Presbyterian Dual Plus providers only: Complete required training at phppn.org (available year-round; office staff cannot complete on behalf of provider).
- Children in State Custody (CISC) network providers: Complete all required CISC trainings and attest to completion at www.phs.org/providertraining to maintain network participation.
Consequence: Failure to update demographic information and complete required trainings may result in directory listing issues, member access problems, and potential non-compliance violations.
