Summary

MVP Healthcare has updated its 2026 Q2 formulary, removing 10 medications from prior authorization requirements across Commercial, Marketplace, and Self-Funded plans, excluding 4 new drugs from coverage, and adding 8 newly available generic equivalents. Billing teams must update prior authorization workflows to reflect these pharmacy coverage changes.

Action Required

Action needed
Before the member's plan year start date in 2026 Q2: Billing and pharmacy verification teams must update prior authorization protocols to REMOVE prior auth requirements for Ensacove, Arbli, Zelsuvmi, Ibtrozi, Averi, Xifyrm, Tryptyr, Orlynvah, Hernexeos, and Modeyso across all Commercial, Marketplace, and Self-Funded plans. ADD coverage exclusions for Merilog, Leqselvi, Anzupgo, and Brynovin to claim submission systems. Update pharmacy benefit management (PBM) system rules and provider order entry systems to reflect these changes. Front desk and clinical staff should be notified that these formulary changes are effective on each member's individual plan year start date, not a single universal date. Failure to update systems may result in unnecessary prior authorization delays for newly unrestricted drugs and potential claim denials for newly excluded medications.
