Summary
Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Georgia is adding Inhaled Nitric Oxide (CG-MED-69) to their precertification requirements effective October 1, 2026. Providers must obtain prior authorization before providing this service or risk claim denials.
Action Required
Before October 1, 2026: Billing team must update prior authorization tracking system to require precertification for Inhaled Nitric Oxide services under criteria CG-MED-69. Providers must obtain authorization through Availity Essentials or by calling the member ID card number before rendering service. Failure to obtain precertification will result in claim denials except in emergency cases.
