Summary
AHCCCS now requires Behavioral Health Residential Facilities (Provider Type B8) to bill HCPCS code H0018 as separate line items for each date of service, effective March 1, 2024. Date span billing will be denied and must be corrected using individual daily entries.
Action Required
Before March 1, 2024: Behavioral Health Residential Facilities must update billing systems to submit HCPCS H0018 as separate line items for each date of service with 1 unit per day. Remove date span functionality for H0018 claims. Billing team must also resubmit any correction claims for dates prior to March 1, 2024 using the new format. Claims with date spans will be automatically denied.
