Summary

BCBSND is implementing multiple operational and coding updates: (1) expanding provider directory validation to monthly reviews with risk of suppression/dis-enrollment for Medicaid Expansion providers with incomplete attestations or no claims in 12 months, (2) advancing notice that global maternity coding will no longer be accepted effective January 1, 2027, and (3) clarifying contractual billing requirements to prevent improper member charges. Billing teams must ensure directory information is current, understand maternity coding transitions beginning in 2026, and verify member cost-sharing compliance.
