Patients must have tried or been unable to tolerate specific first-line medications before Trulance will be approved.

Immediately: When prescribing Trulance for Medicare Advantage patients, ensure providers document prior treatment, intolerance, or contraindication to Linzess (linaclotide) for IBS-C patients, or both Linzess and lubiprostone for chronic constipation patients. Submit prior authorization requests with this documentation. Claims without proper prior auth will be denied.
