Humana Medicare Advantage now requires step therapy for inhaled corticosteroids (Asmanex, Pulmicort, Qvar, ArmonAir, Alvesco, and fluticasone propionate products) for asthma treatment. Members must have previous treatment with Arnuity Ellipta before these medications will be covered.

Update prior authorization processes to verify Arnuity Ellipta trial before requesting coverage for Asmanex, Pulmicort, Qvar, ArmonAir, Alvesco, or fluticasone propionate products. Claims may be denied without proper step therapy documentation.
