Summary
Effective immediately, providers must submit AHCCCS eligible Arizona Department of Correction (ADOC) inmate hospital inpatient claims and related physician services directly to AHCCCS instead of Corizon. Each claim must include the inmate's AHCCCS ID number, and providers should validate these ID numbers on the AHCCCS website before submitting to avoid denials.

Immediately: Billing team must redirect all AHCCCS eligible ADOC inmate hospital inpatient claims and related physician services from Corizon to AHCCCS. Verify each inmate has an AHCCCS ID number using http://www.azahcccs.gov before claim submission. Update billing system to route these claims directly to AHCCCS. Note: After June 30, 2014, Corizon will deny all AHCCCS enrolled inpatient claims that should be billed to AHCCCS.
