Summary
AHCCCS is implementing integration on October 1, 2018, consolidating medical and behavioral health services under single health plans. Additionally, DFSM has rescinded policies prohibiting handwriting on claim forms and multi-page claim formatting requirements, effective immediately.
Action Required
By October 1, 2018: Billing team must verify member enrollment before submitting claims as non-SMI behavioral health members will transition from RBHA to ACC plans or AIHP. Update billing workflows to send claims to correct payer: ACC plans for integrated members, AHCCCS for AIHP/TRBHA members. Immediately: Staff may now use handwritten claim forms and fill total charges on all pages of multi-page claims per rescinded policies.
