Summary

Humana Medicare Advantage is implementing prior authorization requirements for Adbry (tralokinumab-ldrm) subcutaneous injections used to treat moderate to severe atopic dermatitis. Patients must have failed or have contraindications to both topical treatments (high potency corticosteroids or calcineurin inhibitors) and Dupixent before Adbry will be approved.

By January 1, 2026: Billing team must update prior authorization tracking system to require pre-approval for all Adbry (tralokinumab-ldrm) prescriptions for Humana Medicare Advantage patients. Providers must document patient's diagnosis of moderate to severe atopic dermatitis, prior treatment failure/contraindications to high potency topical corticosteroids or topical calcineurin inhibitors, and prior treatment failure/contraindications to Dupixent.
