Summary
Beginning January 1, 2026, HHSC will discontinue the Dual Demonstration Program with Medicare-Medicaid Plans in five Texas counties (Bexar, Dallas, El Paso, Harris, Hidalgo). MMP members will transition to STAR+PLUS managed care organizations, affecting billing and Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) requirements for affected members.
Action Required
By January 1, 2026: Billing team must identify all MMP members from Bexar, Dallas, El Paso, Harris, and Hidalgo counties currently receiving services. Update patient records to reflect new STAR+PLUS MCO assignments. Modify EVV systems and billing processes to accommodate the transition from discontinued MMP plan codes to new MCO requirements. Contact affected patients to confirm their chosen STAR+PLUS MCO for accurate claim submission.
