Summary
Nevada Medicaid has fixed error code 5051 that was incorrectly denying outpatient claims for patients in nursing facilities. Claims with dates of service from November 4, 2024 forward will no longer receive this error, and previously denied claims back to April 2023 will be automatically reprocessed.

Monitor upcoming remittance advices for automatically reprocessed claims that previously denied with error code 5051 for nursing facility patients receiving outpatient services. Review any new denials that may result from reprocessing and prepare appeals if necessary following Medicaid Services Manual Chapter 100 guidelines.
