Summary
Nevada Medicaid has fixed a system error that was incorrectly denying inpatient claims for Residential Treatment Centers with error code 5001 when patients were discharged and readmitted on the same day. The system has been updated effective December 16, 2024, and previously denied claims back to January 1, 2024 will be automatically reprocessed.
Action Required
Monitor upcoming remittance advice for automatically reprocessed claims from January 1, 2024 forward. Be aware that reprocessed claims may still be denied for other reasons and can be appealed following standard procedures outlined in Medicaid Services Manual Chapter 100.
