Summary
Nevada Medicaid now reimburses Physician Assistants (Provider Type 77) at the same rates as physicians for HIV and Hepatitis C diagnosis codes, effective January 1, 2024. Claims with these diagnosis codes from January 1, 2024 onward that paid incorrect rates will be automatically reprocessed.
Action Required
Immediately: Billing team must ensure that when submitting Nevada Medicaid claims for Provider Type 77 (Physician's Assistant) with HIV (B20, B9735, Z21) or Hepatitis C (B18.2) diagnosis codes, the claim detail line points to the applicable diagnosis code to receive the higher reimbursement rate. Monitor future remittance advice for automatic reprocessing results of claims with dates of service on or after January 1, 2024.
