Summary

Effective June 30, 2025, Nevada Medicaid requires all statin medications to be filled in three-month (100-day) supplies as part of their Maintenance Medication program. A one-time initial fill of less than three months will be allowed for the first prescription to ensure patient tolerability.

Action Required

Action needed
By June 30, 2025: Providers prescribing statin medications for Nevada Medicaid patients must write prescriptions for 100-day supplies (except for initial fills). Update EMR templates and prescription workflows to default to 3-month supplies for maintenance statin therapy. Educate prescribing providers about the new requirement to avoid pharmacy rejections.
